Scalable Architecture

Continuity is designed to scale from a single server to large-scale server farms using a modular implementation of its object hierarchy (termed the discovery server), in addition to flexible caching of output documents (such as HTML), internal objects (which may be serialised XML) and back end data-sources, which may be stored locally to the point of processing as XML.

Scalable Architecture

The discovery services are modelled after DNS+HTTP extensions, enabling database, or content servers to be scaled hierarchically at the back-end. Web-server scaling is provided by traditional load-balancing.
